At ZEDO Initiative Uganda, we are driven by a single, powerful vision: to ensure every child has the opportunity to complete their education. Recognizing the challenges faced by government-aided schools in providing all the necessary resources to support learners effectively, we established the Zero Dropout (ZEDO) Initiative to bridge the gap and empower at-risk learners to stay in school and thrive.

Our Mission

Through our ZEDO AID programs, we aim to support at-risk learners, improve their literacy and numeracy skills, and reduce school dropouts. By addressing key risk factors, such as falling behind in math and English, we create pathways for students to achieve academic success and realise their full potential.

Our Programs

ZEDO Tutors

We work with dedicated volunteer teachers, known as ZEDO Tutors, to provide extra support for learners who are struggling. These tutors offer tailored assistance in mathematics and English, addressing the critical gaps that can lead to disengagement and dropout.

Student Volunteer Program

Our Student Volunteer Program enlists students on vacation to serve as mentors and tutors. These young volunteers bring fresh energy and perspectives to their roles, inspiring and guiding at-risk learners to build confidence and improve their skills in mathematics and English.

 ZEDO-Track: Early Identification and Intervention

The ZEDO-Track program equips schools and community education leaders with digital tools to identify at-risk learners and potential dropouts early. By leveraging these digital solutions, we enable timely support and interventions, ensuring that no student is left behind.
