About Us
The Zero Dropout Initiative (ZEDO) was established to combat school dropouts. Through Zedo Aid, we support school and community campaigns that foster safe, supportive, and conducive learning environments, ensuring the retention and successful completion of education for at-risk learners. Our 4C Strategy to prevent school dropouts focuses on the following pillars:.
Community environments most directly impact learners' ability to complete school, we have equipped over 300 Local community leaders, and we want to provide more community education leaders ( mostly head teachers, LC1, and Religious leaders) with skills to implement practices to encourage action that enhances their critical role in ending community school dropouts.
We support literacy for 600 lower primary pupils in Kajjansi Town Council, providing 600+ reading materials to enhance reading skills and reduce dropout risks. Many students struggle with math and English, leading to disengagement and potential dropout. Addressing struggles in math and English helps keep students engaged, building a solid foundation for academic success.
Teachers are uniquely placed to make a lasting impact. Their close ties with students and parents enable early intervention to boost engagement. Through our support programs, we’ve equipped over 200 teachers across with resources and strategies to help at-risk students, creating a positive environment that encourages retention.
