About Us

Championing Education since 2017

Welcome to ZEDO Initiative Uganda! At ZEDO Initiative Uganda, we are driven by a single, powerful vision: to ensure every child has the opportunity to complete their education. Recognizing the challenges faced by government-aided schools in providing the necessary resources to support learners effectively, we established the Zero Dropout (ZEDO) Initiative to bridge the gap and empower at-risk learners to stay in school and thrive. Our work is guided by our 4C strategy, a comprehensive approach designed to address school dropouts and promote sustainable educational outcomes:.

  • Creating Awareness – Promoting the importance of education and the risks of dropping out.
  • Capacity building for community leaders - Empowering leaders to address dropouts effectively
  • Community engagement–Uniting community pillars to collaboratively address school dropouts
  • Child Support-Targeted support to ensure positive learning outcomes.

Success Stories

Empowering Community Education Leaders

We have equipped over 200 local community education leaders with skills to foster school retention and reduce dropouts. Our focus is on empowering more head teachers, LC1 officials, and religious leaders to take action. By implementing practical strategies, they can create supportive environments for learners. Together, we aim to ensure every child has the opportunity to complete their education.

Child Support Programs

We support literacy and numeracy development for 600 lower primary pupils in Kajjansi Town Council by providing key instructional materials and remedial teaching. Our efforts focus on enhancing reading and math skills while addressing challenges in math and English. By tackling these barriers, we help students stay engaged, reduce dropout risks, and build a foundation for success.

Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping students' futures, leveraging their close ties with students and parents to intervene early and boost engagement. Through our programs, we’ve equipped over 200 teachers to enhance remedial teaching in math and English.
